The Unexpected Gifts of Impermanence

This past year has been full of the unexpected –the grief and loss that so many of us have experienced, the uncertainty about what is next and when life will return to “normal,” the upending of our social connections. But are there gifts to be found within this impermanence? In Tibetan Buddhist practice, we meditate on impermanence and death, and the preciousness of our human life, as a way to inspire us to do what is most meaningful with our lives. Can we use the forced impermanence meditation of the last year to reprioritize our lives, live in closer alignment with our values, and move towards greater flourishing?
